Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 1982. She is an American actress best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Originally from Worthington Ohio she left high school and moved into Los Angeles with her mother after her parents divorce. While struggling financially she landed her first role as Rachel's Room's title character the online video show Rachel's Room in the year 2001. Following her win of an Young Artist Award in 2002 due to her role in Murder in Greenwich of 15 year aged Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace was able to be awarded. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004 and she shared with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) along with her. After leaving the show, Grace was keen to work more prominently in film having played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She was in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 and Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) Replays of roles. Grace performed the role of Shannon on the finale and in two additional episodes. Grace was a part of the show's sixth season which ran from 2013 to 2014. As a member of the Gyllenhaal family She is the daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. In her teens She began working on small roles with her father. She also appeared in Donnie Darko with her sister. She then appeared on the screen in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico and Sherrybaby (a dramatic) received her nominations for Golden Globe Award. The actress gained more attention after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008), thanks to several successful commercial films she starred in the year 2006. For the film, she won an award for the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
